Bill Corcoran is doing a few private signings, including one with Dr. Mike Marshall.

Prices for Marshall:

Your flat item (up to 8x10): $250 + SASE
8x10 photo (choice of Tigers, Dodgers, Pilots, Braves or Mets): $250 postpaid
Baseball: $350 postpaid
Your baseball: $350 + plus return postage

"1974 N.L. Cy Young" inscriptions are an extra $75.

Marshall will be doing a maximum of 200 total items (and 50 inscriptions) and items are due by April 19.

Somehow, I think Dr. Marshall is one Met who will never appear in my autograph collection.

Corcoran is also doing private signings with Carl Boles, Nick Willhite, Joe Ginsburg, Al "Butch" Benton, Chuck Stobbs and Larry Doby Johnson. Prices for these guys range from $10-$20 (+SASE) for your flat item, $20-$30 for his photo, and $30-40 for his baseball. Items due by April 19.

In the event anyone is interested, Corcoran's email is bcorcora@tampabay.rr.com

Ridiculous prices, especially Marshall. I guess a few rich folk will show up to throw down the cash, though.

Chuck Stobbs is free through the mail, as far as I know. Got a 57 topps signed last year in 8 days.

I'm shocked he's doing another signing. Corcoran had said that Marshall did nothing but moan and complain the ENTIRE time during the first signing. I treated myself to an 8x10 the first time around. The price is crazy, but considering how tough he is, he's one guy you flat out will never get for less. Ever. Even the big time dealers like Rich Albersheim and Kevin Keating scooped up several items during the first signing, which should attest to something. If I had to choose between Marshall, Ripken or Bonds for the same price, I'd choose Marshall hands down.

I'd agree with you there, but the price is still way too rich for my blood.
No doubt he's not in everyone's price range, or even the range people would be willing to spend for an autograph. But if you have the means and especially if you need him for a set, there won't be many more opportunities. My friend also is working on the entire Mets roster from '62 to present. He has all but 4 guys (3 of them from last year's team!) and that is how he got Marshall.

It may sound morbid, but how long does he have left?

Even if he does one or two 'private signings' a year, when all is said and done - he will likely still be considered a 'tough' signer.

I myself wouldn't pay for his autograph, unless of course I was a little more well off.

Well, he's only 64 years old. That's not especially old. You never know if he'll have a sudden turn of health or live a long, long time like Bob Feller.
