Former Texas Baseball players share a laugh with coach Augie Garrido (left) at the 2006 Alumni Game.

AUSTIN, Texas -- For the fifth straight year, The University of Texas baseball program will combine Fan Appreciation Day with the annual Alumni Game to create Texas Baseball Fan Fest, which will be held on Saturday, Jan. 27 at The Dell Diamond in Round Rock, Texas.

In this fashion, Fan Fest will not only provide Texas fans with a chance to see and visit with past and present Longhorns, but it will also allow the baseball program to thank all of its fans for their dedicated support.

The day begins at 10 a.m. CT when the grounds open for a variety of fan activities. The entire UT squad will be on hand until noon for autographs and sign one item provided by each fan. A team set of baseball cards and schedule posters will be handed out to fans for signatures.

Please note that due to monitoring concerns, all individuals 18 years of age and older will be required to complete an autograph item card prior to entering the lines and show photo ID prior to receiving an autograph. We thank you in advance for your cooperation. Additionally, fans are limited to one autographed item each and are encouraged to arrive early as the players will have to depart the concourse promptly at noon CT in order to prepare for the Alumni Game.

Admission to Texas Baseball Fan Fest is FREE.

Once the autograph session is completed at noon, both the Alumni and Varsity squads will warm up on the field before being introduced to the crowd prior to the first pitch of the Alumni Game at 1 p.m. CT -- a nine-inning exhibition tilt.

"There is no doubt that we have the best fans in all of college baseball," Texas head coach Augie Garrido said. "They provide our team with tremendous support each and every year both at home and on the road. Fan Fest is a wonderful way for our team to kick off each season and thank our fans personally for all that they do."

The No. 4 Longhorns kick off the 2007 regular season on Friday, Feb. 2 at 3 p.m. CT when they play the University of San Diego at The Dell Diamond in the first contest of a three-game series.

The University of Arkansas has the same thing at their annual football fan day. Only exception is that you still have to be like less than 13, and you can only get whatever cheap crap it is that they hand out signed. Like a plastic megaphone that popcorn comes in.

Just horrible.
