How about a major leaguer like Brett Myers? On the DL, I'm sure he has some free time, and I don't know one Philly grapher/fan who doesn't need him on a 2008 World Series project or peice. He is the definition of impossible, yet isn't a star, so shouldn't command boat loads of money.

Got him once in 2001, and I clearly remember that he acted like he'd rather spend a day with a hot fork in his eye than sign another autograph.

I actually thought the John Curtice signing was a bad idea. He was banging out stacks TTM and I had already provided his home address in the forums. But I bit my tongue and said nothing. Sometimes that is an option you know??? Grabbing your hands and making sure they dont type. LOL!

Well I heard of people using the address you posted both before and after you posted a success and I didn't see a single other success from it. If people really were getting stacks from him they weren't talking about it. Retired minor leaguers are the most inconsistent signers out there, I get back from less than 50% of the retired MLers that already have successes posted on here and I get emails and PMs all the time about the guys I've received stacks back from that stiff everyone else.

Regardless, John Curtice was a guy that a lot of people needed and from what I remember, everyone that sent in cards got their stuff back signed. How many recent signings can we say that about???

I dont know, there are about 30 new signings posted each week in the Upcoming Signings section.

I believe, most all go down without a hitch.

I'll agree to disagree I guess. If there are 30 new signings posted in here a week, 29 of them are "so and so is going to be signing at a Verizon Store in Boise, Idaho" type threads. I'm sure those mostly go fine but those have nothing to do with members sending stuff in to a signing organized by a SG member, which is the issue I'm talking about here. For the "real" signings, there is maybe one a week and half of those either end up in an argument, have several complaints/lost items, or they blow up entirely.

I'm not picking on you by the way. I think your Ryan Anderson signing on here was one of the best ones so far. I just think the player selection and the execution of the signings has gone way downhill.

Agreed, the Roomes didnt go as planned and I ate the bullet on that one. Big Lineup signing had Little interest. Other than that, all other signings have been 98% perfect, at least the ones I handled. I still get thanks to this day for doing the Frank Williams signing. Had I not approached the card shop and got that stack knocked out, there would people needing him for their sets, never to have the chance since he passed away shortly after the private signing.

We can only learn from the stuff we do and work harder to make sure it doesnt happen again but when you are dealing with people, things do go wrong that are not planned or welcomed.

Not a "boatload", but a good amount. I'm no expert on this kind of stuff, but I think it could be done for around $40-$50 per auto.

Yeah exactly my point (to a degree).....I'm sure if you pay him he will sign, especially with him being out for the most of the season and not being able to cash in big with free agency.
