2010 REDSFEST

No offense, but have you ever went to this event? It gets really old reading your posts that talk in circles and thus make zero sense.

This place gets crazy for even the lesser guys and with the Reds making the playoffs, I can only imagine it being tougher. From my trips I made down there, the Reds did not put a cap on the tickets they sold each day, so the place would get SUPER packed on Saturday, I think the tickets sold ratio was like 1:2.5 between Friday and Saturday- something like 4,000 sold for Friday and 10,000 sold for Saturday. It's still a fun time and I hope you guys are still able to get a surprise in there like there has been before.

couldnt agree more

if this guy thinks there wont be 10k people there on saturday and mike leake wont draw a crowd he is freakin nuts

i have not ever been to this event but i have been to many fanfests. for example at the nationals fanfest last year if i hadnt tried to get pudge, i could have gotten through some lines about 3-4 times. i had no clue that the reds fanfest is out of control. and i had no clue people in cincy liked leake that much. i thought it was all about votto this year but boy am i wrong.

Dude...Metsfan is like 15 years old and from the Baltimore Area... Why Wouldn't he be the leading expert in Redfest?????

haha took my post down because it seems it only has a negative effect to the thread.

There were 10,000 people there on Saturday last year. Should be even more this year. I'm really not sure I want to deal with this.

I am in the same line of thinking if I were coming I would try Friday crowds are usually a little smaller. Although this year I see this to be a mess. Last year several big players all signed at the same times Larkin and Rolen for example which split the crowds up. I don't really expect to see to many players signing out in the crowds as they walk around this year. Over my four years of going I find to focus on coaches and prospects for high numbers. Chris Dickerson sit at a table bored to death a couple years a go and would sign anything while to years later he was one per and you would have thought he was Babe Ruth from the way he walked around. Quality items will be my focus this year getting a couple photos and some team set cards. Best of luck for those who go its going to be a madhouse.

The last couple years, even the prospects and coaches lines have been growing in size. That's usually how I roll, but last year the line was pretty long for guys like Ondrusek and Cozart and Pedro Viola.

Guys that I'll be surprised to see on the appearance list include Alonso, Francisco, Chapman.

Ahhh, yes. The lovely and talented Zack Cozart....
ZC: <signs 1/5 on the page>
Me: "Would you please sign this one too?" <points at my one setter>
ZC: "You should be happy with just one."
Me: "Thanks." (He was sitting in between Logan Ondrusek, who just signed a page of 8, and Travis Wood, who then signed a page of 8.)

Good times.

I'm sure Alonso, Francisco, and Chapman will be on the appearance list initially, but, like last year with Francisco, you never know if they will actually show up. I wonder if Phillips will still roll with a police escort now that's not "the man" on the team anymore...

With the event less than 4 weeks away, I hope they announce some kind of appearance list sometime soon.
