2011 Royalsfest

maybe 200 or 250 people. It gets crazy for Brett. It probably wouldn't be as bad if he actually liked to sign in person. It might get crazy for Greinke if he is still with the team. I want Moustakas and Hosmer to be there.

Last year they had a new company take care of the Fanfest (same company that will be doing it this year). What they did for most lines is they would let you in the "signing area" to stand in line they let in 200 people and those were the people that were guaranteed to get an autograph from that group of signers once the 200 people or the hour was finished they would ask the signers if they wanted to sign more if they hadn't hit the hour yet, some agreed to sign more some didn't. I think it is going to be even more crazy this year for Brett than it was last year because he was scheduled to appear but even until they announced that he was signing everyone said he wouldn't be signing. Also depending on which line you got would determine if you were able to get multiples, one line security didn't care you could put as many down as you want, one line they told you numerous times that only one item was getting signed. Overall this is the weakest lineup that I have seen at a Royals Fanfest. But on a different note, does anyone know if they are going to be doing the Royals Caravan this year? There is a link on their site but it just links back to their homepage.

Anybody think there is any chance that they will be adding any of the new guys? (ie: Francouer, Melky, Escobar, Cain) It would seem like they would want to introduce these guys to the fans at an event like this.

There is little chance on any of the guys that live outside the US, last year was the only year that I can remember that any of the guys that live outside the US even showed up to Fanfest and that was Betencourt. I would say there is a pretty good chance that Francouer will be there. It seems they add quite a few people after the holidays.

There may be a bigger line for the futures than the actual players. With Greinke now gone the emphasis will be on Brett and probably Hosmer and Moustakas.

Those of you in the Kansas City area, whats the best way to get from the airport to the Convention Center? I looked up the taxi fare and it said it would be around $115!!!

There has to be a shuttle or something.

See if the Sheraton has a shuttle...may be free if you stay at the hotel. That is where the convention center is at. It is about a 40 minute drive as the airport is way up north. There is a KCI Shuttle Service that goes to hotel so this would be your best option if you don't want to stay at the hotel
