On June 2, Killebrew is suppose to attend the Birmingham Baron's game at Rickwood Field. I have called the office, and I can not get a definite on whether he is signing or just appearing. Does anyone know anything about this event? If it is not an actual sit down event, what are the odds Killebrew signs inside the stadium? Is he decent IP?

i'd say the odds are pretty good. i don't go to fort myers for spring training but i hear he usually signs a lot there. he's also scheduled to attend the father's day game in cooperstown at the end of june, and i know that he'll sign a lot there. you should do pretty well with him

The only thing working against you will be the crowd. You have people that saw a game their 50 years ago drive 12 hours to relive their game experience. The only person that never signed their was Willie Mays.

So you have attended something similar to the Killebrew event before at that stadium? If so, with the exception of Mays, it was a sit down signing event?

First of all, there is a reason that the Rickwood Classic is always a day game and it's not because of a lack of lighting so be sure to get there early enough to park near the stadium. If you never lock your doors, this would be the time to change that habit.

Killebrew has been a gracious signer the past few times I've seen him and he's also very friendly. Work you way to him if you have a chance as he enjoys fan interaction and could use up any signing time talking and taking photos.

Seems like every year there is a reason that I can't go to the Rickwood Classic and this year is no different. I hope to make it to one someday.

Thanks, MidSouth Minors. So, Pretty rough neighborhood. I will have to travel about 2 hours plus to get him. I have never gotten him, but you think it would be well worth the trip?

i have a dick perez poster of harmon that i'd like to get done so if you're going to this and could take an item, please let me know. i can give you cash or a trade in exchange for the graf.

At Fanfest this past year (I know this a was a sit down event) he would comment on your items. For example I laid down an 8x10 and he said that "That was a home run off of Nolan Ryan" But from my one experience with him he was very personable and friendly. I think you shouldn't have a problem getting one item signed. If you going for dupes you may not do so well.

He signs every letter of his name so it takes a little longer than a typical signer. But in my opinion quality is better than quantity.

I would drive from Memphis just for the game and zero graphing so if you're really into minor league baseball then yes, it's worth the trip. If you know your way around a stadium you haven't been to before and can easily get to your target in unfamiliar territory then I feel you have a decent chance at getting your autograph as well. I don't know how the guests are handled at this game so I can't tell you if they do have a scheduled signing or you just have to work to get an autograph so I'd assume you'll have to get the graph on your own.
