His family and friends were all very nice, and didn't seem like hippies when they were here in San Jose to watch him play earlier in the year.

He's a very smart kid who knows a lot and likes to F with people when he signs. I wish you could have asked him where he pulls the trivia questions out when he asks people who ask him to come over to sign. I read an article last week where it seems his parents were straight out hippies too and sort of had that type of theory on life as well, but he is funny. Hopefully he lives up to the build up he is getting. I can see him replacing Lowell (well Youk will) at the end of next season, and playing 1B for the Sox full time in 2010.
