To celebrate the American League baseball champions Tampa Bay Rays doing its first spring training in Port Charlotte, there will be a parade in Punta Gorda where people can meet the players, the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce said.

On Feb. 19, a parade is scheduled to leave from City Market Place - located between U.S. 41 and Taylor Street, Punta Gorda - at 3 p.m., go up Taylor Street, then take Taylor Road to Quality Self Storage.

Tampa Bay Rays players plan to sign autographs and merchandise during a Meet and Greet from 4-8 p.m. at Laishley Park.
