Giants Smith, Yankees Duncan to Meet Fans at Center for Disabled.
Two rookies who enjoyed solid opening seasons will be on hand January 27th for the annual Center for Disability Services telethon at the Holiday Inn Wolf Road. Yankees first baseball Shelley Duncan and Giants receiver Steve Smith will be the featured guests in the sports room, meeting fans and signing autographs to benefit the Center. Duncan, who hit 25 homers in 91 games at AAA Scranton-Wilkes Barre, kept the power streak going when he got the call to the majors. In 34 games with New York, hit hit 7 homers and drove in 17 runs. Smith, the Giants 2nd round draft pick out of USC, came up big when given the change for Big Blue. Smith caught 8 balls for 63 yards in the 5 games he played this season. Smith is represented by local agents JR Rickert and Ray Brownell. The pair will join FOX television star Fred Willard and the FOX23 News team for the 48th annual telethon to be seen on FOX23 from Noon to 7pm.
