Toledo Mud Hens Fandemonium

That really sucks. I hope this is just an anomaly and not how events are going to start going

Seems like if sales of their $20 admission tickets is very low, they will have to rethink this policy.

That is ridiculous. Not sure if the Detroit brass remembers or not, but they LOST the one World Series they showed up for in the last 20 years. Would be nice if they kept the egos in check.

They used to bring 2 or 3 different players to Fandemonium and the whole reason they were there was to sign. This is stupid!

well wat is left of Tigers prospects there best ones were shipped all that is left is Tata I think it is crap too though but who is really left with them.

I'm lost. Is this one thought?

When I first saw this policy I was pretty mad seeing that Cabrera and Willis are going to be in Toledo and Porcello is going to be at the West. Mich stop. I think i am going to try and get some of these guys while there in town, not sure how yet.

Fanfests have traditionally been to sell tickets to the public for the upcoming season. If you go to any of these lately, the lines for tickets have shrunk and the autograph lines have gone through the roof.

I also notice that depending on the players on the team, whether or not the team had a successful year (like winning a championship), can heavily influence the fanfest as far as the rules.

The Toledo fanfest organizers are targeting those who will buy season tickets not autograph hounds.

If you guys are so concerned about it, register a complaint with the Tigers.

Doesn't that defeat against the purpose of having a fanfest and being fan-friendly?

Well, it does, but you should see the operation of the event last year at Comerica Park. I seriously was trying to look around at the place, but it was so packed, you could not even find where the special events were. As for an autograph line, I seriously spent 5 hours trying to find one of the lines, since there was only one way that you could get to it. They switched up all directions for wandering around the park.

As for fan-friendly, you should see how nasty these employees are for the most part. They will literally PUSH anyone (and not just autographers) out of the way, just so they can get to where they're going. The majority of them are extremely rude, but it seems to be because they can not handle the large crowds that have been attending. I've had this happen to me, but I've seen it many times happen to others.

If you tried to contact the team, they would basically chew you out for making a complaint. They do not care one bit, since they know they'll have your money, or if not yours, someone elses' money no matter what. When most teams do their FanFests for a local or team charity, the Tigers do not do that. The owner (Mike Illitch) pockets it for his own gain. They care about the money, and that is it.

As for comments about the possibility of selling tickets, the Tigers do not do a good job promoting this at all. They have one small table at the event, and do not make it known that packages are available.

In Toledo, they are the exact same way. They focus on you having the ability to meet the players. You can not blame the Mud Hens for the way this all worked out, you can blame it on the big team.

If you figure anything out for Grand Rapids, let me know.

The Mudhens are in the top 5 in Minor League attendance every year and sell out over half there games, there is no way they do this to sell tickets.
