Pirates announce Caravan/Piratefest Lineup

Winter Caravan dates, sites set

The Pirates today announced the dates and sites for their Winter Caravan, Jan. 24-28, in 16 cities.

Those scheduled to participate: John Russell, Andrew McCutchen, Ross Ohlendorf, Garrett Jones, Kevin Hart, Evan Meek, Delwyn Young and Tony Beasley.

The sites:

Jan. 24: Somerset

Jan. 25: Latrobe, Uniontown, Johnstown, Altoona

Jan. 26: Morgantown, Washington, Kittanning, Indiana

Jan. 27: Wheeling, Steubenville, Butler, New Castle

Jan. 28: Youngstown, Hermitage, Beaver Falls

Looks like there's no reason to make any caravan trips this year. Van Slyke has indeed cancelled on Piratefest. Ol' Lady Paytas is heartbroken.

Question to anyone who has been to the Rays Fanfest in the past. What is the best way to get graphs there? Have been there 2-3 years ago and stopped going because only able to get 1 player if lucky. The lines inside are very long, and it seems like you have to get on line 3-4 hours before player is scheduled. I am planning to go this year and would appreciate some advice.
