i would be surprised. I work in transportation and from my experiences if items are held in customs this long they are likley distroyed due to failure to pay duties and taxes. i hope for your sake i am wrong here. any luck reaching those who put on the signing?
FWIW, I think there is a small glimmer of hope for the cards. I had a package enter Dominican Customs on 12/4/2009 which I thought would be lost. I got a call on Wednesday 1/20/2010 from the shipping company in DR saying that they got a box (with the wrapping and shipping lables torn off) and the only information they could find was my phone number written on the outside of the box. Like PITT said, they did a number on my box and I'm wondering what the cards will look like. I should get it on Monday.
if a comapny is setting up a huge signing like this where they are taking not just "paper items" like cards but also items like balls bats, jersey's that the value could be questioned, they should have done their homework and made arrangments with a local customs broker who knew how to get this cleared and what the duties taxes were if any on the front end, and moved it through after the signing.
