Why are station 1 and 17 so rare? Just luck, or do people think that those are going to be the better players?

Those are probably going to be the better players. Howard usually doesn't sign a whole lot, as I believe his autograph is licensed to somone/somthing...

First of all, Howard no longer has an exclusive signing deal. Second, they are all there for 2 hours so to all of you conspiracy theorists, relax, its random. They usually don't know who goes where until they get ready to print the flyers with booth locations. They wait as long as possible in case someone is on DL, etc. Finally, if you have enough tickets to trade that you could have all 23 booths, you also probably have enough that if you are missing someone, you will be able to trade someone good for whoever you need. It is different this year with no exchanges but I suspect that it will all work out ok for most people. There are usually no set rules. Every year there are some station handlers that let you get 4 autos if you have 4 tickets for the signer and random others where the handler decides only one even if you have multiple tickets for the station. They use volunteers and they don't go out of their way to either help or hurt people by playing games with the auto station. If you flip a coin three times and get heads each time you still only have a 50:50 chance the next one with be heads. Everyone needs to take a deep breath, smile and hope for the best. See you there.

I saw the Howard name and wanted to chime in. AS mentioned above he no longer has an exclusive. However I would be shocked if he did a public. He has turned down serious money to do one. I mean serious money. I can't elaborate. Anyway Howard if needed grag here. You may see him at a charity thing or when he retires. Otherwise the price if he did a public would be over $200 per. So grag him if you can.

Howard is not a bad signer if you catch him in public, he just doesn't make many advertized appearances.
Also, I have extra admission tickets. Free for whoever wants them. I can give you some extra autograph tickets if you can wait in one line for me.

Wonder since they are limited autos...if you can buy if any lines are short but im assuming there may not be any "short" lines...

I sent him 2 cards in January - no return......
I live 10 minutes from his place......maybe I should camp out at the entrance to the negihborhood. Only one way in and out ;-)
My nephews have seen him grocery shopping but never approached him.
