Senior Bowl 2007

The dealers who go there have ruined this for the collectors, especially one in particular. They constantly hound these guys from the moment they arrive at the airport to the hotel to the practices, etc, etc. They hand these guys a stack of photos, 30 at a time sometimes. Everything they do is to the extreme. By the time the collectors get there, the players are tired of it. When they would cut them off, they started offering the players anywhere from $3 to $5 per item for them to sign when they would not sign anymore for them. They get away with this until their agents show up/are around. I guess word has gotten around to the players about this and now they don't want to "sign for free".

I am not against getting multiple things signed, heck, I will be the first to hand 2 or 3 things to a college or minor league guy, but when you have 30 photos, all the same pic, it gets pretty obvious.

are these guys by chance from chicago? if so i feel your pain.they suck!

This is the same thing that happens at the combine. A lot of the agents tell them not to sign in hopes of getting an exclusive deal. One guy last year that basically said screw you to his agent was I believe Siniorce Moss who stood for 15-20 min signing while his agent was trying to get him to stop. Seems the prices go up. I remember going up to Chad Jackson with one photo while everyone else had stacks of 20-30 and he was wanting 25-30 bucks a pop.

I hear there is a chance that Brady Quinn won't be there later on this week, whoever is down in Mobile will you tell us if he is not there anymore?

I was getting little 4x6 collages I made of each player...Usually 2 or 3 per guy...never more than 4...
Damion Hughes turned me down on a team logo collage and signed a scrap piece of paper for a kid..

I saw Chris Leak tell the kid he wasn't signing...No kids areound for Smith or Quinn so I don't know.

So it is probably a lot better chance for kids than adults.... Were you staying at the hotel? If not do they still have the strict "no bags in the hotel", but when I stayed there last year if you stayed there you could do anything you wanted. I just hope they fix up their attitudes.

Thanks, Austin

No large bags. I was allowed to have my backpack. But I didn't carry it around...left it by the table I was at...

The two security guards got there around 5 yesterday afternoon and start escorting players around. The security guards would say "no", then that same guy would come back later and sign...

Was there anyone that was actually (nice)?? sorry for all the questions, I just want to figure out how it is going to be.

Yeah I'm going also...I sure hope the players start signing better than I hear they are now...otherwise this is going to suck.

I believe they were from Texas. The main guy is real boisterous and blatant. You will see him if you see an autograph opportunity get ruined---most likely it will be because of him.

Good luck, I hope you guys do well in spite of everything. I think at the practices you might have better luck than at the hotel. I don't remember seeing many dealers at the practices.
