Cow Palace Tristar Show May 1-3rd

Agreed. Part of the $700 is simply meeting the legend also. I mean, you can meet countless players at games nowadays, but someone like Willie Mays, who is only getting older and will be doing less and less shows as time goes.....I'm sure he'll even let you shake his hand if you ask. That's something you could tell your kids/grandkids long after Mays is gone and you have a signed jersey to prove it. Value can only go up.

Exactly. Perfectly said. He is a jerk though. Not looking forward to that.

Lincecum has been added. $129 though for balls and flats? $199 for jerseys? Damn.

I got the jersey in my avy signed early last year for $40.

I shook his hand at a card show in 1989 and you know what I paid for autograph then (I was only 14 at the time)?? $15....my how times have changed.

I was able to get Mays back in 1991 for $22. What I was hoping for as I was waiting for the Tristar prices to get posted was that since we are in a huge recession that they would also have lower autograph prices. No such luck. I paid $175 for Joe Dimaggio in 1995 and I thought that that was outragious. I remember passing on Roy Campanella back in 1992 because he was $200. This is ridiculous. From an investment standpoint, I dont really think many people will be able to turn a $300-$700 Mays item around for much profit even if he passes away soon. The 1969 topps Mays card I need for the set will stay unautographed and I will try to find an authenticated one on ebay for much less. Dont get me wrong, Mays will probably sell out at this hsow, but for me and my money, we are going to have to pass.

Just take that ball with you to the show and have Tristar authenticate it. They won't know it was signed 20 years ago.

Jesus Tap Dancing Christ, $700 bucks for an autograph, lol. And we wonder why this country is in the shape it's in. Anybody who would waste that much money surely is the same idiot who would have drank the kool-aid at Jonestown.

I will probably be going on Saturday I can help anyone out PM me...Side note...I just got a dual certified(PSA/DNA..And Say Hey) Mays ROMLB for 95 shipped...Ebay is not a whole lot more. 700 is outrageous

the $700 is for a jersey....it is a lot but would you have paid $700 to have Mickey Mantle sign a jersey when he was alive knowing what they sell for now? The ball price is over $300 which is still a lot. MAB was actually CHEAPER for a Mays autographed ball....crazy

Mike Merriweather

If you are going on Friday, and can help me out with Mike, please shoot me a PM. I would gladly pay for a few, as I need him on 3 cards. Thanks!
