I recently got in touch with former major league pitcher and 3rd overall pick in the 2001 MLB Draft - Dewon Brazelton, who agreed to sign whatever we can send him for $1 per card with the money going toward his son's education. He was usually a guy that would sign but would never just hit a ton of quantity so I'm sure there are lots of unsigned cards out there. He is no longer affiliated with any organization so TTM is your only shot with him.

Dewon was 5-0 with Team USA in college. He starred for the MTSU Blue Raiders before becoming the #3 overall pick in the 1st round to the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He was the Rays opening day starter in 2005 and appeared in 63 MLB games for the Rays and Padres.

Many people know he struggled in his MLB career and has had some bumps in the road but his life is still really a story of overcoming odds, as he had a very difficult family life growing up and had several pretty serious injuries that he overcame as well. I compare his life to that of Michael Oher(The Blind Side), as the community that he and I grew up in reached out and took him in during difficult circumstances. He was the 2004 Tony Conigliaro Award winner.

Here's the details:
I will collect all the cards and mail one package to Dewon with any applicable instructions(blue or black pens, etc). I will pay shipping to and from him so you're only paying for shipping to and from me. I will be paying for insurance and have him sign for the package. He has assured me that he will take great care of everything sent. I will be sending the package on August 28, 2014 so that gives everyone a month to dig up cards and get them to me.

Please make check payable to me or send cash.

Please tag all cards with a post it note and include a list of what needs to be sent back to you, as well as indicate the color you'd like (if not blue or black then send your own sharpie or pen...)

PM me with any questions or to let me know you're sending something and how many. Send cards(prepped, tagged, with list, and return shipping) to:

Scott Hensley
1047 Olde Mill Ln
Hixson, TN 37343

Hope this is something someone will be interested in.

I wouldn't pay dewon 1 cent to sign as he was a real jerk, I went to mtsu at the same time (fr so yrs)I knew a few guys on that team. I was roommates w 3 players. Went to see him play UT , Got a ssecurity escort out. Less than 10 people thr for him. Chris Burke signed 100s for Ut fans
In AA called me a liar when I said I knew some players on mtsu

Anyway, I hope his is ok but he can get a job if he wants money

Everytime I asked Dewon to sign, he told me had a cheeseburger on the grill in the clubhouse and had to go flip it.

So, please tell Dewon I have a cheeseburger cooking, and I will send him my cards and money after I flip it.

He was a supreme jerk the few times I've seen him. Interesting how one can be humbled lol... That being said, I need him in several sets so I will be in for 5-10.

Flippin Burgers, that's appropriate.

On time, he was walking from bullpen to clubhouse. A few of us asked him and to the best of our ears, he said " I gotta pizza party "
