I am pretty sure he said "stand by the front door"........he didn't ask about dressing up and waiting in the restaraunt/lobby.....sure, you can do that if you only want one person, anybody can do that.....but if he waits outside by the front door, he will get the boot and most likely have the cops called.

I live 5 min away from that place and never go. That place just makes autographing not fun....and good luck with "other" hotels. Pretty much every team stays at that hotel.....

So, you get arrested if you stand out front but not if you enter the establishment? If that is the case the course of action seems obvious.

Also, not everyone can do what you suggest. You have to be a little bold and of course have a suit

Because you said where theres a will, theres a way.......I am pretty sure this guy was asking because he wanted to get multiple people.....you can't do that at this hotel. You can get one person, if that person decides to sign, and then they ask you to leave. So you better make it good, and ask someone you know will sign, are you are getting nada. If you are in the hotel, doesn't mean you are going to jail, you could say you were going to eat in the restaraunt, buy something in the gift shop, etc. If you are standing outside the front door, just waiting.....then they will call the cops.....been there done that. Got Mcgwire, not inside because he wouldn't do it, but outside......then like 5 of them started yelling so loud about trespassing and cops and how their ***** hurts.....I still have hearing damage.

I didnt infer that. His post seemed to say he was new to the area and needed help with how to get the job done at the hotel, not who or how many he wanted.

I said that because after he posted asking for help, several posters said he could/would be arrested if he tried to get autographs at the front door, inside the hotel or in the mall. I was offering him encouragement and that regardless of what people say you should always try for yourself to find out. What works for me may not work for you and vice versa.

I still have hearing damage.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I actually said front door because I've done a hotel once and it was as simple as waiting at the front door. I didn't realize how lucky I was with that hotel. I know a majority of teams stay at the same hotel, but it does seem doable, as long as you aren't obvious about it and just go after one guy. I'll just save most of my time at the hotels for the teams that stay in the city(I know there are only a handful) and the NBA season

It is amazing the different policies that different cities have on hotel lobbies. I know in NC that the Embassy Suites in Cary will have you arrested if you are caught graphing on their property. A couple of graphers have actually been arrested trying to get Carolina Hurricanes' autographs. In fact, as I understand it if you are actually staying there and you are graphing, you will be thrown out. There is no tolerance in some places. I was asked to leave a hotel lobby about two weeks ago which is the first time that I have ever had that happen. However the next time that I travel to that city, I will just stay at that hotel so that I can remain in the lobby.
