Going to try and get Willie Mays w/HOF insc. I'm going between a ball and 16x20 of the catch. It'll be my first Mays auto in my collection and have a lot of balls signed in my collection. I've heard where he signs flats better than balls. Is this true? Anyone have opinions on which would be better to get that would turn out the best. My fear is of course paying $400+ for a ball and having him sign across the laces or something.

I would not get a ball done. From past stories I've heard he does not use a pen any more, just a sharpie. He's almost totally blind. If your going to spend that kind of coin I would go with the flat. You can get PSA balls of him at the show for around $100, in blue pen.

I agree about the flat. I've been debating about whether or not to get something done by him as well. If I do it is definately going to be an oversized flat though. If I do just him and Russell I'm already looking at a boatload of cash just on two guys. I'm intrigued by Kukoc and would like to get something cool signed by him too but at this point I have no idea what.

They were selling them at the national my man. I got one a couple years ago for that price at the last national in Chicago. And they had them again this year. I would think the same dealers will be selling them at this show.
