October trip to Dominican Republic

I should get everything in the mail by midweek. I called my contact in Santo Domingo who was hanging out by the Estrellas dugout during a rain delay. The phone got passed around the dugout so I could talk to a few of the guys. Santo Alcala was happy to sign my photos and cards and happy for the Copenhagen I left for him. Rafael Ramirez loved the Braves and Astros 8x10's I gave him. I also talked with Jose A. Reyes who told me that the 2007 Upper Deck card of him is him on the front but Geovanny Soto on the back. I didn't know, is that common knowledge?

Due to some unforseen circumstances, I've decided to scrap plans for a January trip to Dominican Republic. By Wednesday or Thursday, I should have everyone's stuff back in the mail with refund checks for all the Alou, Perez and Morales items I didn't get signed.

On a side note, Big Papi's cousin called me today and said that Papi is in DR now and he'll get everyone's stuff signed if you still want it. So far I had only one person say they didn't want me to give their stuff to him, so I'll be FedEx'ing everything to him next week sans one person's stuff.

This also means I'll have to cancel any future signings with Santiago Ramirez as well.
