Tebow signing

I actually have a little inside information about his signing deal. From what I've been told by sources close to the situation he has signed a one-year exclusive with Palm Beach Autographs at a guarenteed rate of $80 per graph. I've also heard that Jimmy Clausen and Sam Bradford have similar deals with other companies. I understand that Palm Beach almost HAS to charge this much for his signature intially so that when he is worth significantly less in a year they don't lose their shirts on the deal.

Sam Bradford is doing a signing in Dallas 4-3-2010 for 99/109/119. Not as bad as Tebwo..

The Suh signing here was a steal then at $50 an item looking at some of these prices. I know he's not a QB but he has the most upside out of any of them IMO.

Defensive guys sell for less. Can you name all DTs in the league? Can you name all QBs? QBs are more marketable and thus people can sell them for more.

Tebow saw an opportunity and took advantage of it. Don't like the price (I wouldn't pay $5) then don't get his graph. He is in VERY high demand right now and there are a lot of people out there who will pay this price. Give the guy credit for milking the cash cow now instead of waiting until it turns sour.

Tebow's autograph costs $160

ncf_a_tebow_sy_300.jpgOn March 5, former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow will take a break from his Extreme Makeover: Long, Looping Throwing Motion That Isn't His College Coach's Fault Edition to use his left arm for a different purpose.

Signing autographs.

But autographin' ain't free. In this case, the fee for Tebow's John Hancock is $160, according to the Florida Times-Union.

A "large portion" of the proceeds go to the Tim Tebow Foundation, but the "large portion" isn't specified. It's also possible that an equally "large portion" will go into Tebow's pocket.

We can't say we blame him. If he can't change that catapult into a slingshot, he'll need all the non-football money he can muster.

Insane...thats like $240,000 they made, not counting people who got 2+ things signed.

We may not know which team Tim Tebow will suit up for in 2010, however, we do know people want his autograph and they’ll pay handsomely for it.

The former Florida quarterback appeared Saturday at Palm Beach Autographs, and according to the Florida Times-Union, an estimated crowd of 1,500 people were in attendance to pay $160 for a Tebow autograph.

A portion of the proceeds will reportedly go to the Tim Tebow Foundation, the newspaper reports. Event attendees could also chip in $75 for photos with Tebow.

Tebow talked about his first official autograph signing:

“It’s an honor to have people want to want you and want to have your autograph and want to be around you. That’s special to have an opportunity to sign for people, but it’s more special to be able to do things like we’re doing and being able to really just brighten kids’ days in really their darkest hour of need, which is a lot of what my foundation is about. … I’m just so excited that I have the opportunity to do this and just make a difference in kids’ lives.”

Prior to his autograph signing on Saturday, Tebow had a busy Friday at Jacksonville’s Brooks Rehabilitation Center visiting with Alex Ross, a 16-year-old who was shot by another teen in January.
