Everything was signed either that day or that series.

The point of the scans for me and kidk are that the sigs you see are what you can expect from Tim from a private signing.

I don't deal with the hassle of big league games and tickets. I always need more than 1 guy so I always come away with something, as well as the knowledge I got it myself, and I have learned to take what I can get. Paying for an autograph is just not on my radar scope.

That is a choice that you are more than entitled to make. I just offer sg.com here information on an upcoming signing that maybe a few members may want to participate in. Isnt this supposed to be a community?

I think it's great you posted the info about this signing. For some of us, this is a useful alternative to chasing him around the stadium for days.

I don't have a problem with it, I have sent items to Lefty's before and would again, my concern or main point about the signing was the fact that someone has to drop an additional ten bucks for him to add his jersey number and how this could become a bad precedent in a hobby with costs already spiraling out of control.

Can I afford to pay the extra $10 for his number...sure...do I want to? Hell no, because this time it's $10 but next year it's $35 and before long there will be inscription schedules with number = this price, three words = this price, etc, etc.

I still remember when most players did incriptions for free and this is only ten years ago and now most of those same players charge anywhere from $25 on up for HOF, CY, MVP, etc.

I agree... I've never heard of a player charging to put his number in the ball. I think that inscription costs are ridiculous, but they have become warranted because the increased value of the signed item bese of it, not that I agree with the value.

I just hope we don't see a trend that a player starts adding a cost onto his autograph to add a number... that should be something that the player either does or doesn't do just because it's part of his normal autograph.

Regardless, fee for an autograph is nice for those of us who can't make it to the park the few times the player is in town or for players in the other leagues. Not that I'm justifying Griffey charging like $200 for a private signing, but it's good to know the option it there.)

According to the last email I got, it's almost sold out.

I too got that email, but just like with many other promoters I have always felt that was a marketing tool to hype up the signing and help push sales as people may feel that if they don't get in now, they may miss out.

I mean honestly, how many people do you really think get that email newsletter?

I have seen it before and will surely see it again...do you really think they will turn away mail order for a jersery with inscription if it arrives the Friday before...highly doubtful.

Always pay for gas and game ticket!... Sometimes just paying for an autograph is cheaper or at least less of a hassle.

I agree 100%. On most nights, I'd rather spend 4 or 5 hours with my girlfriend than 4 or 5 hours at a game chasing players in the parking lot. A lot less hassle for sure!

Plus, I could always work some OT at work to get the money for the autographs I'm paying for.
