when is the signing actually taking place? looking forward to it. also if you get a chance to get any pictures, video, etc for some sort of COA that would be great!
Signing taking place Wednesday afternoon. Will be video recording some of it on my laptop, as well as taking pictures during the signing, and am working on a COA for my company right now. Would prefer to standardize the COA, so that I don't issue one type of COA for this signing and a different one for Kazmir, Crawford, etc, so will hopefully have full COAs drawn up for this signing in time. Thanks.
Signing went great. Mat and his agent were extremely nice, and we knocked out quite a few pieces quickly. All items signed have been packed and shipped back to California already. Cards and 8x10s will ship Friday, balls and bats will ship Mon-Tues of next week. Have pictures of Mat holding an 8x10, ball, and bat, so the COAs issued will have the according picture (cards will come with the 8x10 picture). No inscriptions were added to any items, as there was a moment during the signing where Mat received some personal news, and was anxious to complete the signing ASAP. Bats came out great, balls came out VERY nice, and the 8x10s are strong as well. Signing the contracts tomorrow for Chad Billingsley and more than likely Carl Crawford and Scott Kazmir, so look out for those postings shortly. Am finishing up some stuff here in Huntsville then will be heading home, so will post the pictures sometime tomorrow night. Thanks to all who sent in preorders, and be on the lookout for your items in the coming week.
No rushed sigs. He was in my room for well over two hours, he just didn't want the added time it took to inscribe the items to some of the requests (had some pretty detailed inscription requests). Some items got jersey number, but that was the extent of his inscriptions today. Thanks for the "comments" though, very insightful.
How was he during the signing? As many have posted here or elsewhere he is not the best in-person and is very selfish when it comes to taking care of his fans
He is very relaxed, collected, talking baseball the majority of the signing. Talked about quite a few other athletes, who he likes/dislikes, etc. Sounds like he had a bad experience with some autograph collectors, so he is limiting his in person autographs greatly. Did not get any impression of selfishness, greed, or anything else that would be considered a negative regarding his character. Look for him to be even tougher on IP autographs, as it sounds like he is getting quite a few big offers for autograph deals, and once you start getting paid for signing it isn't quite the same signing multiples for people at stadiums.
