TOP PROSPECT Mat Gamel PRIVATE signing

$2 refund is not hardly a solution for a signed set card that I will never be happy with, and will most likely have to pay to get another one signed again at a later date.

what was wrong with it

I'd like to see if there are any other problems with people who sent "cards" in for this signing. It seems I am the first to recieve mine back, so I'll hold off right now on explaining my situation.

what was wrong with it

I'll explain, and personally I find it ridiculous, but I'll let others be the judge. He sends in a card with SASE and $10 payment, fine. Card has a post it note directly on the card with his username, so I write on the post it his actual name, so as to be able to actually tell what envelope to send it back in. He receives the card to his request, states the autograph is great, but apparently when I wrote in his actual name on the post it, it slightly indented the back of the card from my writing. I didn't dig the pen in on the card, I wrote normally, so if there was any damage whatsoever it was minimal at best. He sends me a message stating he can see the slight indentations on the back of the card, was upset about it. I offer $2 back, giving him exact cost on the card to get signed, apologize, and he comes back at me complaining more. What can I realistically do? He made a mistake putting the post it directly on the card, and by not including his actual name. I made a mistake by being careless and not removing the post it to put the proper information on the post it. The only reason I offered cards for sale was to hopefully help out some members here, as I would have MUCH rather had OMLBs or bats signed since those actually have resale and are easier to move. So essentially, he is upset because on the back of his card, there is a tiny indentation of where I wrote (I tested it on a few of my left over Just Autograph cards since he messaged me, and have yet to have any indentations, even when writing hard). Absolutely amazed at this situation.

Actually I said I was satisfied with the autograph. Never mentioned the word "slight".

As my scan shows, your ball point pen didn't work on the post it and there is hard scriblle at the "J" to make the pen write.

Never asked for money back. Never complained more, you aired the issues here.

Identifying my card with my username on the post it is all you needed to match up my card, letter and PMs to my SASE.

I made a mistake by being careless and not removing the post it to put the proper information on the post it.
WOW, well there ya go, B-I-N-G-O. See above for "proper information".

The only reason I offered cards for sale was to hopefully help out some members here, as I would have MUCH rather had OMLBs or bats signed since those actually have resale and are easier to move.
Thanks for the offer, stick to what you know best - bats and balls.

The indentions on the back of my card are the scribble near the "J" and then the rest of my first name and the first letter of my last name. My main point to him was I will always have a card that I know I need to replace, period.

The scanner does not pick up any of the indention, but most of you will know by looking at the post-it, what the card looks like underneath. If anyone else received a card in this private signing, please be sure to post your experience also. I will not respond to anything else in this thread.

I honestly have to be on janderson's side here... I understand where you could be a little upset however sometimes things happen... I would understand if pen or sharpie was all over the back of your card but I seee what he was trying to do by putting your name on it trying not to mix anything up... I honestly would have never thought myself about being careful because of an indention on the card and I'm assuming the same happened with John. I think it's an honest mistake and at this point not much you can do it about it

Thank you for at least seeing where I was coming from on this. Having CopperJJ on a card gives me no help in finding your envelope, without taking the time to find your messages, messaging you to request your name to match with an envelope, etc. I simply saw it as a way to expedite the shipping, and had NO idea the pen would indent the card like Copper claims it did. I believe one other member sent in a card with no post it, so I got a post it myself and put his name on the card so that I had it separated already and prepared to ship, but the other members that sent in cards took the time to actually put their name on the post it to make it easier for myself. From now on, as stated in my Kazmir signing post, if people absolutely want to send in cards, there are specific rules to ensure this does not happen again. I did not have any intention of damaging any persons card, as I myself would be upset if I received a damaged item as well (not sure I'd examine the card with a microscope to see if there any indentations that were not previously there, but that is besides the point), and I am truly sorry I damaged the card.

Maybe the poster who sent the card in could have used a penny sleeve/plastic top load to stick the post-it on, instead of the actual card.

What I do from SASEs I've used, is cut out my mailing address and re-use it over again. You can cut one out and include it with the card.

If it has your name on it and if it is printed [instead of handwritten], should usually do the trick as far as letting the person doing the signings know who the card is from.

Having CopperJJ on a card gives me no help in finding your envelope.

That makes sense.
