November Sun-Times Show Chicago

Everyone needs to email Becky at Mounted Memories and voice your concerns. Maybe and I mean maybe then something will be done. I did when they screwed up my autographs at the last november show and she took care of me. Maybe if enough people do the same thing something will change. You have to let them know these things, sometimes she has no idea what's going on in front of the curtain as she takes care of the back end of the show. Email her through Mounteds website, that's what I did a year ago. She runs the shows in Chicago.

sunday at the the show was a mess this thing is a joke.

tom seaver cancled, im still thinking this is the mab issue as many of their guys are the ones canceling. THe psa/dna line ruined everything. It took me 55 minutes to get through the line on one occasion 45 min on another. seriously if reggie can have a psa rep dna the items as they are signed why cant psa have people at the table holigram and dna on the spot? atleast have 2-4 people dna and holigraming like the national. with the quanity that psa did, you know there will be items that wont show up in the registry because they werent taken down properly from the hand written paper to the system. I have had this happen already and trust me getting this fixed isnt fun. i cant believe the dealers put up with the long psa lines as people dont have time to wonder around and spend money if they are waiting in a long line.

today

ernie banks was his ushal self, signing slowly talking to everyone. he asked me where i worked i told him i was a salesman for fedex and he asked for my information claiming he needs to talk with me about shipping.

ronnie lott--he showed his normal personality not rude but not bubbly. when he saw my oscar robertson picture he asked if he was going to be here, and when i answered that he would be, he told me it was the first exciting news he heard today

tony dorsett-- nice and friendly we were talking about pitt football after i told him im a season ticket holder and class of 2002, blamed the season on dave wanstead, which killed me since i like wanstead and dorsett obviously has pull in the program

big o--signed quickly, did pictures with but kept telling the staff around him to not allow it since it holds the line up

edwin jackson-- worst sig ive seen in a while

tim brown--super nice guy thanking everyone for comming out talking to everyone

I'll throw mine in and I'm gonna start a March thread for suggestions/wishlists that we can forward or alert MM to.
Saturday
-Jim Brown: 16x20 Was friendlier than the previous time I met him. I told him to have a safe trip back and he even gave me a "God bless you son". Must have caught him a decent mood
-Charlie Sanders: Goal Line Art Card Signing quickly int he VIP line but friendly and adding inscriptions. Saw my Jim Brown photo and asked if I could get him one too. Seems like a good guy
-Eddie Murray: Bat Cordial. Gave his HOF without asking, would do a different one if asked. The usual beautiful signature. Glad I got him on a bat at that price
-Reggie Jackson: Yankees mini helmet. The only ticket I didn't buy in advance....ticket #238. I was stunned he sold that well. While I was in line, 3-4 athletes came over to talk which is understandable but slows things down. It seemed many people had him on multiples and nearly everyone (not me) had him doing inscriptions which also slows things down. He wasn't unpleasant but seemed to be losing interest by that point. Heard from people who had him earlier that he was in a good mood. That seems to be his MO
Calvin Thomas-signed photo provided for the VIP's which was cool since it appeared Walter Payton was blocking for him

Sunday
Leroy Kelly-Goal Line Art Card-very nice auto, doing inscriptions but he was slower so the line didn't move quickly for the VIP's
Ronnie Lott 49ers mini helmet-Very shaky sig and inscription. He was neither pleasant or unpleasant which is ok. I wonder if life after football may make his autograph get worse and worse here.
Tony Dorsett-Was nice and gave his usual nice auto. He has strikingly narrow shoulders and big arms. Never seen a powerful guy have such narrow shoulders. Must have made him harder to nit
Joe Montana-Football-Smiling and laughing. Seemed to be in a good mood. Better than I had heard
Mongo McMichael-Was entertaining the crowd with jokes about Green Bay women, etc. His usual gregarious self
Ron Karkovice-No line, was polite

The PSA thing must change because it is costing VIP members trips through the line too. I didnt get any multiples due to the other signers I bought and the long PSA lines

I had purchased Seaver and bought a jersey for him to sign. They supposedly refunded my card, but I have yet to see the refund, and it was supposed to post immediately. I called my credit card company, and they had no reports of the card being refunded. Anyone else having the same problem?

They refunded my card but it hasn't posted yet either. I will give it a couple days and then call. I have had people cancel in the past and haven't had a problem w/refunds.

always tell them you paid cash, wether you did or not. then you go home with it.

Due to prior commitments, I was unable to attend this weekend. First ST show I have missed in a while. None of what you guys are saying really surprises me. What I do love is the amount of 'helpers' that are always getting things signed for nothing. I get the whole connection thing and all, but can all those guys really be helpers in one form or another. Look sometime at their 'holding area' in between some of the aisles. Looks like a store down there.

How am I nuts? Votto was extremely friends and polite when I met him. Took the time to talk, chatted back and forth. Everyone has different experiences with players and my two experiences with him were very positive. He, or any other player, will not ALWAYS be in a good mood. The guy lost his father recently, is still stressed over it, misses his younger brothers, and doesn't like the spotlight. Just b/c a player doesn't sign your item doesn't make them a jerk...it just means they don't feel like signing. Maybe I got lucky to get my items signed, but let's not start calling these players names. FYI, learn how to spell "you're" vs "your."
