Well if you ever decided to sell, you receive much, much better money if it is authenticated. It is also $12 cheaper minimum (more for certain stars) to have it authenticated at that time than later. Think of it this way, if you unfortunately died tomorrow and your family wanted to sell your items to donate the money to your favorite cause in your name, you'd be doing them a favor by having the items already authenticated.

I have to ask this because I always wonder when I see guys standing it that line for hours. Why do you pay them to authenticate it when you just got it signed? I never quite understood this process. Unless your planning on selling it right away. Just seems like a waste of time and money to me. Just curious if I may ask.

what nbrock said except its 8 bucks, when most would be 20+ after the fact. Plus if you have a large collection and have insurance on it you need that psa/dna or jsa to cover you in case of fire, theft ect...

Thanks, I wouldn't pay it but to each his own. My theory on buying and selling autographs is that they are only worth what someone will pay you regardless of authentication. If I some how have to sell of my collection for what ever reason I doubt that will get me a lot more cash. As i will be selling because I need money fast, lol and will take what I can get. As for if I die, good luck getting rid of it, thats your problem and I would hope my son would keep it for himself. And you don't need that stuff for insurance. You can get a general rider covering it all like i have. It pays whatever you ask for, my rider is $20,000.00 on top of what they would pay me for other personal belongings.

You do not need authentication on every item for Insurance Purposes. I probably only have it on like 65% of my stuff and my Insurance payments are HUGE

less than 50% of my stuff is authenticated, it helps determine market value for replacement. much of my stuff was aquired prior to these psa/dna guys were around

Very comparable. Pretty much the same as MAB. He's like Cal in that his baseball prices are fine but the premiums sorta kill ya

Are footballs only $119 for Bradford? I would think they would be concerned a premium but it looks like they're not for him....
