October trip to Dominican Republic

I forgot to mention that I got Epy Guerrero today. We stopped by his house to see him. He still moves around slowly after the transplant surgery he had a few months ago but he is doing better he said. He signed my photos and thanked me for the extras I brought. He asked me why I wanted his autograph because he never played in the majors and I told him that he's probably the most famous scout in baseball history and he was humbled by it. He's a really nice guy and I'm glad he's doing better these days.

I got some good news and bad news today.

The bad news is that former Astro Rafael Batista passed away last night. It was all over the news today.

The good news is that Santiago Ramirez signed for me today and wanted me to thank everyone for sending in their stuff. He also said that he would sign one card for free in January for everyone who paid for him to sign today.

The best news of the day, I finally got a chance to sit down and talk with Luis Polonia and we worked out a deal for him to do a signing with me in January. It won't be cheap but it'll get done. $15 flats/$25 premium items but he said no "big" multi-signed Yankees items. Big meaning anything bigger than a magazine.

I missed Jose Garcia today, he pitched 2 days ago so it's his off day and didn't make the trip according to Santiago Ramirez.

Would he/you accept payments in January from people who weren't able to send anything in this time? Also I would absolutely be in for 2 cards for Luis Polonia since I still need him for 2 sets.

I talked to Juan Melo today and he told me he was the batting champion of the Mexican League this year. I always shake my head when I see him because he's pretty tall for a shortstop.

Depending on price I would be in for Nunez and Julio Santana ! (Oh that would be if Preston ever returns my Nunez card.):p

I ended up going out with Elpidio Guzman, Javier Guzman and Michael Martinez last night. Really nice guys and it was nice to get to see typical Dominican bars/clubs rather than the touristy ones. We ended up running into Denny Bautista at one place and ended up hanging out with him the rest of the night. Denny's a really nice guy and I think he might be taller than the 6'5 they list him at. Anyway, in the future, getting any of the four guys listed about shouldn't be a problem.
