I know a lot of people have questioned my sanity - like my wife everytime I head to the ballpark - but think about it...people are talking about throwing money at a FELON that is in JAIL to sign a baseball card. Un-be-lieve-able.

I respect the quest to finish the set - to each his own - but to me that is just nuts.

I finally admitted to a player tonight that this hobby is not a hobby...it truly is an addiction. There, I said it.

Once he gets out of jail, with no education, he will need money so bad he will prolly sign for 25 cents per graph......he is better off staying in jail for the rest of his life, letting the system take care of him.....no way that dude survives on his own in the real world....unless he makes a comeback, then you can get him for free at the ballpark. lol.

Seems like most others are not interested. I'm happy to give you enough volume to make it worthwhile for his handlers (and yes it is an addiction- but luckily one that isn't particuarly detrimental to one's health).

Jim, I threw a # out there. I dont know what the final $ would be or if even we could do it while he's in jail. I am treading lightly because they are actually trying to get him out on early parole. They requested a hearing 4 months ago but in Louisiana, things move super slow. They have my info and said they will get back with me once they figure out a proper way to do it without making it worst for him (ie: getting in trouble for signing autographs while he is supposed to be speaking with lawyers).

But at least I have a lifeline. When he's out, which according to them they hope is by the end of this year if all goes well, we can do something like 100 items for $1000. That's $10 per. Is he worth it? Probably not but we all need the dude to complete our sets. I need him, Brett Myers (which might as well be dead), Joe Carter and Tankersley or Beckett to sign my Nolan Ryan card. I have Chen coming in a buy.
